Who doesn't have trouble with staying motivated? Forcing yourself to get stuff done when you’d rather sit on the couch isn’t always easy. 1. Stop Thinking About How Hard Your Work Is

If you will think about how hard your work is or how huge is the thing you need to get done - there's a chance that you will never be able to force yourself to do it. Think about your work as a way to make yourself better, as another step forward to your main goal. Doing or not doing something is a choice and once you've made it try not to think how difficult it will be, but think how proud you'll be when your work is done. It's so much easier to find inspiration and energy to do something when you think about your work not as a punishment but as a step forward to a career of your dream.

2. Start With Small Goals

Even when your goal is bigger than big (and it should be) it shouldn't scare you. The truth is, ambitious goals can be as intimidating and demoralizing as they can be inspiring and motivating. The secret to making them come to life is to break your big goal down into lots of smaller steps that will gradually get you to where you want to be – and focus on them. Every time you will complete each one of them it will create a sense of accomplishment and you'll be able to see the real progress

3. Read Books

Not just self-help or motivational books, but any book that has new ideas. New ideas get your mental gears turning and can build motivation. Learning new ideas puts your brain in motion, so it requires less time to speed up to your tasks. Read biographies of the people you look up to for inspiration. There is a ton of motivating books, podcasts, blogs and success stories out there that you can tap into to up or renew your motivation. But for this to work, reading should be your everyday habit. 60 minutes everyday should be dedicated to reading.

4. Stop Worrying About Everything

Sometimes we focus on things that don't really matter but they suck out so much energy, that there is nothing left for truly important stuff. Check your to-do-list. Is there anything that you don't really care about and try to get rid of them. If it is unnecessary and unimportant - that you shouldn't waste your time and energy on it. Focusing on a dull task doesn’t make it any more attractive. Zooming out and asking yourself why you are bothering in the first place will make it more appealing. If you can’t figure out why, then there’s a good chance you shouldn’t bother with it in the first place.

5. Create And Follow Your Schedule

In day to day working life, though, we tend to find ourselves struggling to stick to self-imposed schedules. One or two things overrun; emails and phone calls come in; our boss dumps an urgent task on us. But when scheduling is done effectively, it helps you to understand what you can realistically achieve with your time, make sure you have enough time for essential tasks, avoid taking on more than you can handle and give yourself a rest, which is especially important to keep yourself motivated in working hours.

6. Force Yourself

In times when you are not in the mood to work, feeling uninspired and, just ignore your feelings and do the work, be it exercising, writing your novel, or waking up early. People think they need to feel motivated before they act, but the truth is motivation comes from doing. So just start and in 5 minutes you will feel much more inspired.

7. Bribe Yourself And Celebrate Wins

Celebrating small wins has lots of benefits and has proven effect on powering motivation and igniting joy. Studies also show that small wins provide a lasting boost in happiness. Remember adding up all of your small wins is what creates a big win. Use those small wins to build momentum for yourself. Let that moment sink in, acknowledge the effort and then move on to the next goal.
